UNIMERSE EXPLORER

Built around Quests, Missions and Tasks

Every UniMerse experience is structured the same way: themed Quests, broken into progressive Missions, broken into short, guided Tasks, with each one building confidence for the next.  Its works for all users, no matter what their level of experience or background.

All built and custom-curated on the familiar Unimerse Explorer.

01 — QUEST

A themed journey of discovery

UniMerse is built around a number of Quests — themed, accessible journeys through a landscape, each with its own focus and purpose, shaped around who’s exploring and why.

02 — MISSION

Progressive, step-by-step activities

Each Quest is made up of a series of Missions — progressive, purposeful activities that build on one another and take you deeper into the landscape with every step. Every Mission has its own clear focus, so progress always feels structured and rewarding.

03 — TASK

Short, guided, confidence-building

Every Mission is broken into Tasks — short, guided steps of just a few minutes each, with clear instructions and a defined outcome. Progress is always visible, so no matter your experience or confidence level, you always know exactly what to do next.

THE VALUE OF UNIMERSE

See the Value in Practice - GCSE Geography

Every UniMerse experience follows the same simple journey.  Explore a real environment, investigate evidence and build understanding.  Here’s how this approach works in GCSE Geography.

Curriculum Readiness

DfE ALIGNED

Built around the current DfE GCSE geography framework from the ground up, so fieldwork skills, coastal processes and enquiry methods line up with what’s on the specification.

Supports Lesson Planning

TEACHER READY

Pre-structured Missions and Tasks give teachers a ready-made starting point, reducing preparation time whilst keeping the focus on geographical enquiry.

Accessible Through Design

INCLUSIVE

Give more learners the opportunity to explore and investigate real places, regardless of geography, mobility, confidence or circumstance.

Whole Class or Individual

FLEXIBLE

Online means no barrier between the front of the class, group work or individual learning.  The UniMerse design adapts to different teaching and learning approaches.

Geography - GCSE Fieldwork

ENQUIRY-LED

Move beyond observing a landscape. Learners investigate evidence, collect information and use it to develop their own conclusions.   Built around the fieldwork and enquiry skills for GCSE Geography.

A REAL EXAMPLE

Locate it. Measure it. Prove it.

See how a UniMerse Mission turns a real landscape into an opportunity for geographical enquiry.

LOCATE

Find your way around the site

Your team arrives at a real coastal environment with a job to do. First, get your bearings and explore the landscape. Locate the key features — the shingle ridge, estuary mouth, dunes and beach — and understand where they sit in relation to one another.
Before you can investigate a landscape, you need to know the site.

MEASURE

Collect your own evidence

Now investigate the features you’ve identified. Use the measurement tools to collect your own data from the 3D environment, just as a survey team would collect measurements in the field.
You’re not being given the answer — you’re gathering the evidence you need to work it out.

PROVE

Use your evidence to make your case

Your measurements are now evidence. Compare what you have found, look for patterns and consider what the data tells you about the landscape.
Can your evidence support your explanation? Can you use your findings to prove your conclusion?
